The new Orion joins the Due Posti models in Pilato’s Mercedes-Benz family. New iconic styling, with more dynamic lines and exclusive design solutions. The sides now feature new distinctive elements.
The original inverted-arc lower profile of the large side windows rests visually on the deliberately emphasised wheelarch, giving the side its unique, distinctive character.
The new descending curve of the roof, which extends from the windscreen to meet the sharply inclined rear window, gives sleekness and compactness to the volumes, and it creates a large loading bay which benefits from the superb access provided by the large glazed tailgate, in the best Pilato tradition.
The funeral compartment on the Orion also benefits from all the novelties introduced on the Polaris, with a few specific features that differentiate the model from its larger ‘sister’. Starting from the E class 211 model, we were the first to equip our two-seater models with rear side doors of our own design that give access to a large area located behind the front seats where funeral tools can be conveniently loaded and stored.
This storage compartment* on the Orion has an innovative partition that is equipped with oddment pockets and a spacious sliding drawer**.

Orion, the giant huntsman, killed with an arrow by the goddess of hunting Artemis out of jealousy or owing to the deception of her brother Apollo (versions of the myth diverge).
What matters to us is that he was transformed into perhaps the most famous constellation in the sky, thanks to its brightly shining stars and its position close to the celestial equator, recognisable from almost every part of the planet.
At his feet, the gods also wanted to place his two favourite dogs, which in turn became stars: the Great Dog and the Lesser Dog.
